Chateau Destieux 2007

66% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon the 8 hectare vineyard is on chalk and clay soils. Many of the vines are between 40 and 50 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand, alcoholic fermentation takes place in large wooden cuves: malolactic fermentation and ageing both take place in 100% new, French oak barrels. Deep colour with signs of maturing on the rim; black fruit and roasted coffee on the nose; balanced and silky mouthfeel with complex, well-integrated tannins, lovely persistence.
